You are in Leogang and the surrounding area for the first time? Or are you already a regular and are still looking for the ultimate excursion tips? Our insider spots are waiting for you here to be discovered!

This easy and short hike starts almost right on our doorstep. In about 3 km you will pass a wide range of works of art on topics such as home, nature and tradition. Along the Leoganger Arche the path leads up to the forest, then continues above the Epic Bike Park Leogang, where you can watch the downhillers and mountain bikers on the bike park and the Riders Playground. Afterwards we head down downhill back to the Good Life Resort Riederalm. This circular hiking trail is ideal for a short walk in the morning or evening as a digestive walk, even during the day it is ideal, because the majority of it runs in the forest, i.e. in the shade for hot summer days or somewhat protected from the rain.

Take the chance to explore our local mountain Asitz. Play and fun are not only offered at the middle station in the Senses Park and at the mountain station with the sound toboggan run, but also on the circular hiking trail, Leo's Playful Hiking Trail. Playful hiking is so much more fun! The start is at the mountain station of the Asitzbahn mountain lift from there it leads over the hiking trail past various stations, to the Nature Cinema at the Sonnkogel. From there you continue to the summit of the Großer Asitz, the reservoir and back again to the mountain station.

Tip: For puzzle lovers, there is another highlight on the game hiking trail: at every station there is a puzzle. The answers must then only be entered in the reply cards (available at the mountain lift ticket office) and handed in again at the ticket office. If the puzzle is solved correctly, a great surprise awaits the winners!

A well-known excursion destination, but always beautiful and adventurous. Up to 1,291 m above sea level it goes up to the lowest glacier in Central Europe, the Birnbachgletscher, and then on to the Birnbachloch Natural Monument. At the foot of the Leoganger Steinberge mountains the hike leads through quiet and untouched nature, through woods and meadows and ultimately rockier terrain until you finally arrive at the origin of the Birnbach. The very brave even take a few steps through the icy cold water from the spring.

Did you know, ...
... that at the end of the 19th century the ice of the Binbach glacier was transported by wooden slides, horse-drawn carriages and the railway to the ice cellars of the Munich breweries, in order to cool the beer here in summer? On the way back you can choose the path over the suspension bridge and make a short detour towards Priesteregg to an idyllic natural pond.

Impressively and uniquely, the hermitage lies in the middle of the rock above Lichtenberg Castle in Saalfelden. The hike up to the last inhabited hermitage in Europe is also suitable for families and rewards the hikers with a wonderful view of Saalfelden Leogang and the surrounding mountains - in fine weather you can even see as far as the Zeller See and the Kitzsteinhorn. Since the 17th century, the hermitage and its associated chapel have towered over Saalfelden and impressed its new and old visitors again and again.

Hiking is not your thing and you prefer to ride on 2 wheels? Then we recommend the tour to the Zeller See, which can be supplemented by a ride around the lake. This round is very diverse, because it leads you through dreamlike meadows, through forests, over the lake promenades and along the lakeside roads. A short detour to Zell am See is also very worthwhile, for a scoop of ice cream, a coffee or a refreshing drink. Along the way there are countless bathing possibilities, where you can cool off on hot summer days perfectly. 

A bike tour for everyone, whether with an e-bike or without electric support. The Buchensteinwand circuit is a beautiful, varied bike tour. At the foot of the Buchensteinwand, which can already be seen from a distance through the striking 30 m high St. James's Cross, you pass by the beautiful Wiesensee lake, along quiet meadows and fields and through idyllic forests. The circuit stretches for about 38 km and impresses with a beautiful panorama and dreamlike nature. For those who still haven't had enough, there is still the possibility to master the Buchensteinwand and look at the St. James's Cross from close-up or even from inside.

Another beautiful bike tour takes us to the Pillersee lake every once in a while. A wonderful bike route stretches over about 40 km, suitable for both e-bike riders and mountain bikers. This tour could also be described as a 'lakes tour', since it runs along the Grießensee lake, the Wiesensee lake and finally the Pillersee lake. Another must on this route is a short stop at the Seealm inn, which impresses with regional products.

Our tip: For a really nice cool down, stop at the Wiesensee lake and the Kneipp facility and put your feet in the cold water.
